Day 10 – Some Time in Winnipeg

I woke up this morning and despite the cloudy (almost snowing) weather I took a look around and shot some of the older historic buildings in the “Exchange” area of downtown Winnipeg. After which I was joined by my friend Nancy’s mom Madeline whom I met last year at Nancy’s place. Madeline has been a gracious and generous host, showing me around the “Forks” area of the Peg, and opening her house to me for a shower and a bed for the night. For this I am forever grateful.

Tomorrow I will figure out which route out of Winnipeg to travel and continue on my way well rested and rejuvenated.

Welcome to my adventures. I am your host, your vagabond, your homeless traveling photographer who needs to see new things and keep moving. I am a photographer first, a writer second, a graphic designer and and a semi retired rock drummer. Check out the "about me" for more details.

These are my adventures, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do and continue to follow along.

Much Love,

    • It was a blueish gray. Became a little more purple in my post processing. It’s my attempt at dealing with less than optimum weather conditions. For some shots the over cast days are actually working for the subject matter quite well. 🙂

  • The Exchange District is a fabulous area. It has been used in so many films, including the Jesse James movie with Brad Pitt. Nonetheless, I don’t think the beauty of the architecture has been truly appreciated. I look forward to seeing your vision & portrayal of the historical downtown Winnipeg…..my hometown 🙂

  • You are doing great Wayne. Even when you are not snapping pictures you are working. Understanding and perspective is just as important as the image. Enjoy the journey, talk to the people, everything will fall into place.
