Waking outside of Creston, BC and finding it cloudy and grey I drove over the pass and inward. Not a whole lot to report as I was day dreaming, reminiscing and thinking a lot about the future.
About 1pm my position and the cloud cover had given way to almost clear skies. I visited with an old friend, a house I have photographed before, but this time I went inside. I then rolled into Osooyoos and after a little delay in meeting up I was soon visiting my grandparents and my aunt on my dad’s side. It was a great night of catching up over dinner and some Olympics on television.
Wayne: Came across your card in the yellow house above Osoyoos, BC while doing some location scouting today. I cannot believe that you lost all of your photos. I dropped one of my external hard drives a few months back and since I back up on DVD’s and my external drives I only lost a few hundred photos. I was sick but when I read your post about all your road trip photos I was sad.
I have not finished reading all of your posts so I do not know yet if you are going to continue your road trip or not but what ever you do it was wonderful to look up and see your card sitting there in that old yellow house. A connection in an unexpected place. I had just finished saying to one of the folks with me that I wondered how many Christmas mornings had been celebrated in that old house. I was very aware that years ago that house had rang with laughter and life, that dishes had been washed in that old sink and pictures had been hung on those pastel walls.
Your old friend the yellow house passed along your message to me and my message to you is that as long as we can see the open road there will always be endless adventures.
Stay the course Wayne.
Thank you so much Gerri!! Those are very kind words. I’m at home in Vancouver now and actually just finished writing to a new friend saying that one day I will do the trip again. I can’t sit idle for too long I need travel, so eventually I’ll have many trips added here, it’s just a matter of time. Meanwhile I’m working on some new goals that will eventually get me back on the road.
Thanks for saying hello
All the best,
Wayne
