Free Camping – Severn Dam, Near Standard Alberta, Canada

Written by Wayne

This is a nice spot as well. Very open, lots of sites on a reservoir. Not many trees but that worked fine for me as it means lots of light for my solar panels. There are many easily accessible sites on both sides of the reservoir (I don’t know the number, guessing, around 15). Chattering birds everywhere and the water is nice.

Not much in the way of amenities but there are fire rings at the sites and a few well spaced vault toilets. Also saw a boat launch. I did have cell coverage there. I only stayed a couple of days here in mid May and there was only 2-3 other campers that I saw. It was quiet sans the birds but very relaxing.
