I simply don’t know what else to call this one. It was a great spot. I really really enjoyed it there in Early May. When I arrived on a Saturday I was the fifth camper. By 5 PM on Sunday I was alone. For a few days I was the only one there, leaving my trailer while out exploring for photos. At night when I returned it was always fine.
There are 6-10 easily accessible sites, depending how close you want to be to your neighbor, picnic tables (most are bolted in), A covered “group cookhouse”, steel fire pits, garbage cans and two rickety vault toilets but no other amenities.
There is a path that allows you around the surrounding private land to the Red Deer River, under the bridge. Cell coverage is spotty depending on your provider.
During my short stay I saw deer, woodpeckers, and a beautiful owl. The sounds of the birds, wind through the trees and nearby river made this a really great spot, especially for the price. Eventually some new campers arrived and I stayed an extra day because they were awesome people and so fun to hang out and chat with. Peter told me about the next spot that i visited.
